The idea for the first of the Ethan Garrick adventure
novels, Paradise, came to me during my first visit to Papua New Guinea in 2016.
The story of a plane crash in the remote PNG highlands and the life and death struggle
of the survivors, the secret they find on a jungle covered mountain top and
their attempts to escape the jungle's hold and find their way back to
civilisation.
The readership of Paradise somewhat surprised me in regards to how popular it
was with female readers.
What was written essentially as a 'boys own adventure' style novel, quickly
picked up a large female following which I was not expecting. A very nice and
welcome surprise.
The sequel to Paradise, The Jungle Deep, saw some of the original characters
from the first book return to the PNG jungle on an intelligence mission.
However, things can go very wrong in the dark jungle and what was supposed to
be a simple mission quickly turns into a life and death struggle for survival.
The Jungle Deep, whilst mainly an adventure novel also has brief touches of
romance and love.
If you are looking for a complete escape, why not enter the pages of Paradise
and The Jungle Deep to struggle through the vine covered jungles of mysterious
PNG alongside our fictional adventurers.
